A couple of years ago before my grandfather died we were out fishing in his canoe on Scotts Lake in PA. My grandfather fought in WWII and had very poor hearing.
Some fisherman drifted by in their boat and yelled over "did you catch anything"? To which Pop replied as he looked toward the sky "yea it's a beautiful day isn't it"? In frustration I yelled what they asked in his ear and he answered the question properly this time and asked the fishermen if they had any luck. They said "we caught a couple trout". Then I almost died when pop blurted out "there's no catfish in this lake"
It was around that year when my wife and I were in my grandparents basement and they were in the kitchen cooking directly above us. Suddenly we heard the microwave oven sound off - then we heard this scamper over toward the phone and my grandfather saying "hello? hello? Then my grandmother screaming at him "that's the microwave" you idiot!!!
My wife and I were hysterical!!
